In November 2008 my life changed. Being a widow of 15 years, currently out of work, living on a budget, a small pension and other investments, the news about the economy and my “way of life” was troubling. I was under the impression that my money was protected and under control. I knew that was not the case when I lost approximately 30K in a two-week time period and figured that at this rate in less than 3 months I would be unable to make my mortgage, car or insurance payment. I was facing a situation beyond my control and felt helpless.

I contacted FFG and scheduled an appointment. I was assured that they could help me but it would take a new way of thinking about money. I really had nothing to lose. I had lost all the money I had planned on for my retirement and was so depressed I knew my future couldn’t get more dismal. The result of actually seeing how I had spent my money was shocking. Our Personal Money Coach provided a complete “get out of debt plan” and showed us how to pay off our home in less than 5 years. At that time we had about 11 years remaining on a 15 year mortgage. I am excited to say that we followed the plan and paid the 15 year mortgage off in less than 6 years. Our home has now been paid off almost 5 years.

In addition to our debt plan, they also showed us how we could invest our old 401k plan without the worry of losing money in the market and still getting gains when the market goes up. It is exciting to know that during the last 18 months as most investments have lost 30 to 40%, we did not lose any of our money.
